Students will also have the opportunity to focus on more general aspects of Swedish language related to our three modes of communication: interpersonal, interpretive and presentational. For this lesson, students will rotate with their kärnklass through all three classes. 

Hörförstålelse

Vi ska öva på att lyssna och förstår det svenska språket genom att lyssna på musik, film, tv programme och andra typ av svensk media.

Listening Comprehension

We will practice listening and understanding the Swedish language through listening to music, film, TV programs and other types of Swedish media.

Uttal och muntlig färdighet
Huvudfokusen i den här kursen kommer vara att öva på svenskt uttal. Vi kommer gå igenom de ljuden som kan vara svåra för oss med engelska som modersmål och göra vårt bästa för att "låta svenska". Detta kommer vi träna på med hjälp av muntliga övningar, såsom debatter och tal.

Pronunciation and Oral Proficiency
The main focus of this course will be on practicing Swedish pronunciation. We are going to go over and practice the sounds that can be difficult for those of us with English as our first language and do our best to "sound Swedish". We will practice these skills with the help of oral exercises, such as debates and speeches.

Nutidshistorier genom skrivna texter 

Under den här kursen kommer vi fokusera på moderna Sverige och nutidshistorier. Vi kommer läsa tidningsartiklar och andra skrivna texter som handlar om nyheter, livet i Sverige, och frågor inom den svenska kulturen. Genom att upptäcka skrivna verk kommer vi vidga vår förståelse om hur det svenska skriftspråket används för att kommunicera idéer.

Current Events through Written Texts

In this class, we will focus on modern Sweden and current events. We are going to read newspaper articles and other written texts that have to do with news, life in Sweden, and current issues regarding Swedish culture. Through exploring written text, we will broaden our understanding of how written Swedish is used to communicate ideas.
